Overview
We are seeking Medical Device Design Engineer to work for an award winning company specialising in sexual health products. Applicants will need a mechanical engineer bias and relevant experience designing medical device products Job Summary: To continue creating category defining products, the Mechanical Engineer role, based out of our Research & Development office in Surrey, is crucial to the business as the centre point for all product development activities. This is a lead role at a very exciting stage, as they scale the business and release new products at a much faster pace. Working directly with the CTO co-founder, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and execute your own designs have a real impact on the direction of the product roadmap. Key duties: • The design and detailing of mechanical parts, assemblies, and complete products • Inventing novel ways to solve problems and create market-leading solutions • Prototype & build of parts & assemblies. • Concepting ideas and proving functionality with rapid prototyping techniques. • Testing, validation & documentation of your designs to global industry standards • Formalising version controller data packs for production release. • Specification & technical part drawing creation • BOM creation & maintenance • Manufacturing set up and implementation • Project & supplier management • Overseas travel to liaise and support mass production. • Cross business collaboration & effective communication Qualification and Experience Required: • 5 years’ experience in a mechanical product development role • An engineering degree BSc, BEng or higher e.g. product design, mechanical engineering or equivalent • Experience of taking complete products from concept through to manufacturing • Excellent CAD user, essential experience with Solid works 2018/2019 creating assemblies / sub-assemblies and part outputs. • Experience of both solid modelling and surface modelling. • Model Rendering and animation. • Knowledge of plastic materials types and selection. • Knowledge of injection moulding tooling design, draft angles, slider operations to ensure parts are design for low cost manufacturing. • Proactive, self-starter • DFM & DFA experience, sheet metal ideal key words: mechanical design engineer medical device engineer medical device design engineer medical devices 13485 iso13485 biosensors 14971 iso14971 fda gmp cgmp biomedical engineer biomedical engineering medical engineer medical engineering biomedical engineer product design engineer industrial designer industrial design engineer product designer This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89608755
