Excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and accomplished Manufacturing and Operations Leader to join Minky one of the nation's favourite Household products brands and the proud holder of two Royal Warrants. With the majority of our products manufactured in the UK we are now looking for a future leader in the business. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with a strong academic profile, a strong track record in non-Food FMCG / product-based manufacturing and a strong and effective leadership style. Role Info: Manufacturing and Operations Director - £50M British Household Products Manufacturer Rochdale | Up to £100,000 Combined Salary & Benefits Package (Based on expertise) Who we are: We are a family owned branded producer of quality household consumer goods supplying leading multiple retailers and also direct to consumer via our fast-growing eCommerce activity. Our products are used in nearly every home in the UK and in many overseas countries also. We have an ambitious plan to significantly build upon our turnover both through the introduction of exciting new products and also by growing substantially our overseas markets. Employing 400 worldwide but head-quartered in the UK, our unique business designs and manufactures products in several North Manchester factories yet operates international bases in Europe, USA & China. It is unusual in that we manufacture products from textile, metal, foam and also injection moulded plastics. We are already extremely well invested utilising some of the most modern technologies available including significant robotics installations. Automation is at the heart of all our productions processes and there is ongoing support for further investment as can be identified to improve even further. We utlilise the full SAP suite and WMS systems to help our operational performance and efficiency. The Manufacturing and Operations Director Role: This position represents an extremely rare opportunity brought about by the impending retirement of the long serving current incumbent. Key Responsibilities: Take charge of the complete manufacturing, engineering, quality, logistics and operations personnel and infrastructure Spearhead further improvements in technologies, people and processes to ensure exemplary ideally world class operational efficiencies, quality and service level performances Participate actively in the board level discussions in respect of the strategic running and evolution of the business in all its aspects Ensure that the warehousing and logistics function fully supports the business and customers’ needs and also achieves operational excellence and to mastermind the move into any new state of the art facilities The ideal candidate: Is likely to already be a Senior Manager / Director in a significant manufacturing business ideally with some experience of supply to challenging customer base such as supermarkets or other complex and fast moving sectors. Have strong intellect and probably be a graduate or similar level academically, most likely within an engineering discipline. Not be ivory towered, but be practical and to an extent hands on and with a real world understanding of how factories, machinery people and warehousing work, inclusive in management style and an excellent communicator at all levels. Commercially astute with a proven track record of success in growing the profitability and operational performance of an organisation Have a strong and positive human side with an understanding of how to motivate and obtain the best from the various levels and abilities within your team. High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance. Putting the business interests first while being sensitive to all stakeholders concerns. Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
