Software Developer (Java / Scala) job in Newport - Up to £49,365 DOE excellent benefits An excellent job opportunity has arisen for a Software Developer to join a highly established and renowned organisation in Newport. The organisation is embarking on an ambitious technology and business change transformation programme, with a view to replace multiple bespoke applications with modern enterprise class systems. They are adopting a cloud first approach, which will transform the way that they deliver their services to the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a Java Developer / Scala Developer to take an active involvement in this transformation programme, which is aimed at delivering high quality digital services. It is essential that you have a solid technical background, with hands-on Java or Scala Development experience. You should be a forward-thinking individual who is keen to explore the latest technologies. This position is based in a highly successful and growing Java Development team that work in an Agile Scrum methodology. You will be responsible implementing toolkits and APIs for integration, security and scalability in addition to building automated tests to support a continuous deployment environment. Working in the full software development lifecycle, you will be responsible for the design, coding, testing and documentation of small scale through to large, complex programmes and systems. You will build automated tests to support the continuous deployment environment whilst also implementing toolkits and APIs for purposes such as integration, performance optimisation, security and scalability.
