Due to the expansion of the OT Team, we are searching for motivated and innovative individuals to join us on Belvedere Ward at Franklyn Hospital, Exeter. Location Belvedere Ward is where we provide assessment, care and treatment for patients with an Organic Mental Illness (Dementia), based at Franklyn Hospital, Exeter. Our team at Belvedere includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, Ward Manager, Registered Mental Health and Registered General Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Support Workers, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Junior Doctors, Discharge Facilitators, Medical Secretaries, an Admin Team, Peer Support Workers, a House Keeping Team, and a Team of enthusiastic Volunteers. We have a strong work ethic and pride ourselves on delivering person-centred care. Salary for this role will be dependent on qualifications and experience working in a care role. The details for this are outlined below. If you already have the Care Certificate or hold a level 3 QCF qualification in care you will be appointed on a Band 3 salary. If you have a minimum of 6 months experience in the last 2 years working in a care role, you can complete the form “Care Certificate Evidence Document” from the additional documentation list to evidence that this experience is equivalent to the 15 standards as set out within the Care Certificate. You will need to take this completed form to interview where it will be reviewed by the appointing manager and if you meet the criteria, you will be appointed on a Band 3 salary. If you have less than 6 months experience working in a care role, you will be appointed as a trainee and paid at a “spot salary” currently £18,005 whilst you complete the Care Certificate. As soon as this is completed your salary will then increase to £19,737. We will also offer entry onto our apprenticeship scheme which is open to applications every 6 months which is offered on an apprenticeship salary.
