Overview

Title: Systems & Software Team Leader On behalf of an Oxfordshire based automotive motorsport company, we are actively looking to recruit for a (Controls) Systems & Software Team Leader. The candidate will need experience of automotive control software, strong embedded software knowledge and experience in either managing or leading a small team of software engineers. Software Responsibilities: Lead and build the software team (currently one engineer but you will have additional 3 engineers available to do some work items) Develop and deploy team processes relating to software development, coding standards and version control management Real time embedded control software design and development in Matlab, Simulink and C. Potential to develop other on and off car systems such as on-car HMI systems or off-car tools/systems for development, calibration, analysis. Assist with consultancy on software system, architecture and functional safety aspects of design Documentation of all steps in the process Systems Responsibilities: Road and race car electronic systems design Concept, prototype and production applications Vehicle level system architecture design Role may include design of mechanical, thermal and other associated systems. Safety analysis and design processes Application test, calibration and validation Documentation of all steps in the process Essential: Knowledge of vehicle control systems, sensors and actuators. Ability to develop, test and document embedded software in C and Simulink/Stateflow for real time on-car control applications. Interact with customer to clarify specs/requirements up front and report/inform customer on progress throughout. Very detailed technical approach with ability to really get into how a system works and a 'never give up' approach to development and problem solving. Capability to take on all of the above to manage projects. Would like: Ability to design vehicle control systems, specify actuators/sensors, draw looms and produce detailed specifications for all parts. Understanding of V Cycle techniques and ISO26262/ISO9001 safety quality systems. Race and road car systems knowledge preferred but not essential.
