Overview

We currently have an opportunity available for a Young Person’s Support Worker to join us to work alongside customers living in supported accommodation, using a person centred approach to support them in practical tasks which will help to achieve the goals and outcomes as outlined in their support plans and risk assessments. Providing information, advice and support on their rights with regards to welfare, tenancy and money, you will work with customers to help them learn or improve their practical life skills (e.g. budgeting, paying bills) as needed to be fully independent and integrate successfully with their local community; engaging with customers on a one to one basis to support them in their journey towards accessing and maintaining independent accommodation. Candidates for this role should have an awareness of homelessness legislation and practice and experience of providing support services within a social care setting (supported housing, care, nursing, residential). With an understanding of the support needs and the issues facing our customers, a reasonable understanding of the benefit/welfare systems would be beneficial, and you must be assertive, resilient and a team player. As well as a generous holiday entitlement, we offer a range of benefits for a rewarding career including a pension scheme and staff discount club membership. We’ll also make sure you get the training and benefits you deserve.
