Overview

The role focuses on the running of our live Japanese translation studio in London. In addition to duties such as monitoring of the Japanese audio output and operation of broadcast systems, the Broadcast Coordinator is responsible for staff coordination, administration, operational reports. Principal accountabilities Day-to-day running of our live translation studio Monitoring Japanese audio output Broadcast system operations Investigating and reporting issues Organising schedules and rotas Scope and Impact The role directly impacts our client’s output. The post holder must have high levels of personal integrity and is required to take a considerable level of personal responsibility for their work. Organised and systematic in approach, with strong attention to detail, they must be capable of exercising good judgement and be able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines. Relationships Reports to the Operations Manager Liaises with other departments such as Translators and Tokyo office Communicates routinely and professionally with L10N’s clients Experience, knowledge & skills required Ability to work well under pressure and use own initiative Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills Superb attention to detail Punctual and able to manage own time Confident and pro-active Competence with Word and Excel Qualifications Education Level: Graduate English Experience: Previous broadcast or coordination experience a distinct advantage Hours of work Full-time or part-time available 13:00 to 21:00 GMT (winter) / 14:00 to 22:00 BST (summer) You will be based at the BBC Broadcast Centre, Wood Lane.
