Applications Engineer - Semiconductor

Owing to a period of successful growth a leading developer and manufacturer of analogue and mixed-signal CMOS IC for communications and networking applications is now looking for an Applications Engineer. Working from the Southampton site, this role would suit an experienced and multi skilled Application Engineer, who can provide support to design led silicon bring-up and debug activity relating to next generation high speed CMOS Transceiver products. In addition to the silicon bring-up activity, there is a requirement to develop and optimise Application Reference solutions to promote the product performance to prospective customers and also aid design-in activity of chipsets. Your previous experience in Test/Measurement and automation will enable you to support the product developments and meet customer requirements. You will be responsible for the generation of good quality technical reports and literature, e.g. Application Notes. Qualifications : Ideally you will be qualified to at least Degree Level in Electronics, Semiconductor, High Speed Communications, or Similar. Significant commercial experience will also be considered. Experience: We are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer with a proven record of experience in bring up and verification and debug of silicon or board/system level mixed signal products. Ideally you will have demonstrable Software (Python/VB/Labview/C++) and embedded programming skills. Optical transceiver design experience would be desirable or alternatively hardware design skills that relate to high speed digital transmission or high frequency wireless applications Exposure to high frequency &/or high speed optical digital transmission with an appreciation of Signal Integrity would be advantageous.
