Laboratory Support Technician - Histology

This is a role suited to someone who has an interest in science but who may not have a scientific related education or background. This role is to be based at our site in Harrogate on a 12 month fixed term contract . You will be working across our modern, purpose built laboratories where you will play a key role in the logistical and operational support of our Histology teams. Following a comprehensive training and career development scheme, the responsibilities of this varied role will include: All processes involved with the receipt, documentation and storage of incoming tissues, specimens and reagents. Study set up procedures including reagent preparation, cassette / slide printing. Sample dispatch procedures. Responsibility for data / specimen archive. Precise labelling of samples and accurate recording of data. Adherence to Good Laboratory Practice regulations. Undertaking cross-training initiatives within other areas across Safety Assessment. The job may involve periods of lifting, pushing and pulling of equipment and animals. About You: You will have an enthusiastic and committed attitude.
