Multi-Skilled Engineer – Food Manufacturing Location: Derbyshire Salary: £35-40,000 great benefits Shift Pattern: Weekend Nightshift (Thursday-Sunday) Our Client is going through some exciting times with ambitious plans for growth. As a result we’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join their engineering team at their manufacturing site in Derbyshire. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption. The role: Work collaboratively within the Engineering team Support in investigating means of improving plant productivity Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available. Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages Action any necessary repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised. Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance. Be proactive in ensuring good health and safety on site The people: You will be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical Engineering, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering) Ideally, IEE qualification up to 17th edition Wiring Regulations Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault-finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (Ideally Food Industry) Have a good understanding of HACCP principles Previous experience programming PLC is beneficial however not essential. You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate assertiveness and decision-making skills and have a can do attitude to your work.
