Overview

SIG Distribution is currently looking to recruit an Inventory Business Partner based from our site at Eurocentral in Motherwell, who will be responsible for driving improved collaboration and embedding Central Inventory key processes with Sales and Operations within the distribution centre, providing a single point of contact for Inventory related issues at the site. It's an exciting new role with the business and you will be joining 5 other Inventory Business Partners around the UK to undertake a very important role. What does the role involve? As an Inventory Business Partner at Eurocentral, you will drive improved collaboration and embed Central Inventory key processes with Sales and Operations within the Distribution Centre, to deliver improved service at the lowest cost. To do this, you’ll act as the key interface between the Sales, Operations and Category teams and through the S&OP process, you’ll represent Central Inventory and support other business areas’ strategies and ambitions. Through the S&OP process, you will drive a collaborative approach to agreeing the demand planning assumption upon which an inventory stocking and replenishment strategy can be built and to provide forecasting information to the Central Inventory Planning team for them to execute the inventory purchases to support the demand plan. You’ll create and manage the demand forecast for the site and develop the inventory stocking and sourcing plan to do this. You will work closely with Operations Management to build a stock holding and replenishment strategy the delivers target customer service levels and SIG’s financial performance targets for inventory value and volume for the site. In addition, you’ll develop and execute plans to address obsolete and excess stock. Through work with the Category team, you will actively manage supplier performance, as well as promoting a culture in which the focus on outstanding customer service and on time and in full delivery is at the heart of every decision made. You will utilise and develop forecasting tools to develop statistical forecasts for the site, overlaying and enriching this to develop a future demand plan for each SKU on site. You will use external learning and industry best practice to drive and support the ongoing improvement of performance and efficiency of the Inventory team through the development and delivery of new tools, processes and systems. To be a successful Inventory Business Partner, you’ll need to embrace new thinking and adopt a continuous improvement approach to ongoing enhancement of performance and efficiency of processes. You’ll need significant experience of Demand Planning, Inventory Management principles, Supply Chain processes and S&OP environments. You will also need to have strong commercial skills and it would be great if you came from a construction background, but an FMCG, Manufacturing or Logistics background would be equally as great. In this role, you’ll need excellent influencing skills and have a dynamic approach to your work, with great planning and organisational skills, the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work to tight deadlines. Your communication skills need to be second to none as you’ll need to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships at all levels within the business, meaning you must be confident in high pressure environments with a high level of personal and professional creditability. You will need to spend a couple of days a month at Adsetts House, which is our Head Office in Sheffield to develop relationships with the central team. You will need strong analytical abilities, excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, good presentation skills and the ability to work in a pressurised, continually changing environment.
