Purchasing Manager/ Senior Buyer Shrewsbury Salary from £35,000 dependent on experience - Plus Excellent benefits A prestigious, family owned organisation based in Shrewsbury is looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager to join its well established Purchasing team. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this is an exciting role to provide best practice procurement. Working alongside stock control and reporting to the Head of Supply Chain this is an exciting role to provide best practice procurement. To purchase goods of the best quality, with the best pricing that meets customer requirements; you will be doing this through supplier negotiations and tender activities. Essential Experience Minimum 3 years procurement experience in a fast moving industry - ideally FMCG, and purchasing goods for resale Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards this Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and costing breakdown. Able to devise and implement individual strategy per supplier and supplier tier Able to build effective relationships with staff and suppliers Good interpersonal and influencing skills with proven ability to negotiate with suppliers High Level IT Skills including Word, Excel, Access and Ideally SAP Supervisory experience would be beneficial but not essential Driving License Key Duties Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through negotiation and tendering Identify opportunities for product rationalisation to improve leverage on fewer products with higher volumes Source new and special products Maintain relevant reporting systems and define action plan including rebate reports, savings trackers and supplier overview report.
