Overview
Server Specialist End of 2020 Milton Keynes £450-£495p/d The Server Specialist is responsible for performing activities relating to the support, maintenance and enhancement of the server and network infrastructure. The Server Specialist is responsible for providing out of hours support as per the Company's IT Call Out and On-Call Policy. Mandatory Microsoft Windows Server (up to and including Windows Server 2012 R2) Microsoft Active Directory Services including Group Policy Management Server virtualisation technologies (VMware ESXi and/or Hyper-V) Backup & archiving technologies (preferably CommVault) Networking technologies/protocol including DNS & TCP/IP Server & network infrastructure support experience focusing on problem diagnostics & resolution Desirable Microsoft Exchange 2010 Microsoft SQL 2012 onwards Veritas Enterprise Vault v12.0 onwards Storage Area Networks (ideally Brocade & Hitachi Data Systems) HPE server hardware & blade centres High availability technologies including Microsoft Cluster Services APC UPS & PDU and Data Center Expert Management software Anti-Virus/Malware (preferably McAfee EPO and Trend ScanMail suite) Microsoft System Center Operations Manager & Configuration Manager Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and office applications Experience of disaster recovery and business continuity planning is highly valued Additional Desirable Skills Knowledge of IT related regulatory requirements such a GDPR and data erasure (e.g.Blanco) and data encryption standards Experiencing of scripting in PowerShell, T-SQL and/or Visual Basic Formal Microsoft and VMware training and certification An awareness on cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure, O365 and Exchange online ITIL Foundation Certification This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89730567
