Harvey Nash are now inviting candidates to apply for the role of Clerk of Works for a 10-month contract starting in April located in Lochgilphead, Argyll and Bute This assignment will be for 35 hours to start with but may decrease to 14 - 21 hours a work during the contract. Telephone or skype interviews will be conducted on the 31 st of March. Please note this role is inside of IR35 and candidates must have a valid Basic Disclosure certificate in place as this assignment is for a public sector organisation. Job Summary To ensure that the site operations and construction works are carried out to the correct standards, contract documents and current legislation, and are delivered to specification, on time, on budget and to an appropriate quality, including: Essential Criteria: A relevant technical qualification in construction related subject and membership of an appropriate institute e.g. Institute of Clerks of Work or equivalent verifiable work-based experience. Substantial experience as Clerk of Works / Surveyor / Trade Foreman, on civils, hard and soft landscaping projects Demonstrable experience of overseeing, through to completion, high quality public realm works including natural stone finishes, bespoke structures etc. Demonstrable experience of overseeing, through to completion, high quality landscape works including semi-mature tree planting, earthworks etc. Demonstrable experience of acting in the role of 'Supervisor' with respect to the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract Able to use Microsoft Office software i.e. Word, Excel, Project, Access and PowerPoint or equivalent software and also use electronic mail In depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory requirements including CDM regulations, Scaffolding Regulations and Planning and Building Regulations and related compliance requirements. In depth understanding of NEC3 Engineering and Construction terms of contract.
