Overview

Location: Newton Abbot Days & Hours: Part time hours available to work 3 Saturdays out of 6 in accordance with the rota. Shifts will be Saturday 7pm – Sunday 7.15pm (annual leave purposes this equates to 12.125 hours per week) Bank shifts to be worked flexibly and in accordance of the rota and able to cover sleeping night shifts. Pay: £8.46 - £11.99 dependant on shift pattern Driver required? Essential Driving Clients Car? Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic (must be 25 for insurance purposes) Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend trainings Essential: Supporting adults with complex needs Desirable : Experience of working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy Accommodation (while on duty): A private room for your own use. Interviews Week Commencing: 4 th May 2020 (inline with current government guidelines this could be via video link) Start Date: ASAP or date (subject to satisfactory employment checks) Richard aged 48 has a lovely smile and people comment on his intellect and knowledge of various subjects. His parents are very important to him and he really looks forward to their visits, especially when his mum cooks a meal and he can play dominoes with his dad. Richard also likes to attend CEDA, a community hub that offers him a lot of opportunities to try. His other interests include Chess, Physics, collecting postcards and playing the piano. Richard has an acquired brain injury, he mobilises independently, without using aids, on short distances and uses a propelled wheelchair for longer distances, but this is not needed often. He is independent with personal care. You will be joining a care team where you will be taking direction from the Team Leader and Case Manager to ensure that Richard receives all the care he needs. Richard requires minimal physical assistance with his daily routines but will need emotional support, reassurance and guidance throughout the day. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.
