Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION To work on site at various railway depots throughout the country fitting GRP constructed parts onto the exterior and interior of trains. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Some experience/knowledge in GRP/composites laminating Experience of working with tools. Practical skills/experience working with electric hand tools. Basic general mechanical skills. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Driving Licence Drug & Alcohol Screening Test. This can be arranged for the suitable candidate. Medical Report. This can be arranged for the suitable candidate. PPE, including full Hi-Vis suit, Boots, Bump Cap, Mask, Gloves. This can be provided for the suitable candidate. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To work externally on trains removing damaged front valances from the trains and fitting on new ones. To work on the interior of trains removing damaged seats and fitting on newly repaired ones. To be willing to undertake professional training as deemed appropriate by the company. To travel to on site locations across the country, as and when required. To adhere to the on-site Health & Safety procedures/regulations outlined in Site Induction Training. To be able to organise one’s own workload and work towards deadlines. To begin and end shifts on time. To maintain a clean and safe work environment. To maintain ones own PPE and ensure that they present themselves appropriately for all shifts. To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times. To adhere to the company’s policies on Health & Safety, Environmental issues, drugs & alcohol, anti-discrimination and ethics & bribery. To report back to company’s Managing Director/Managing Consultant as instructed. To complete and submit any routine or necessary paperwork/documentation that may be required as part of completing works. To report back to MD/MC any observed non-conformances/contravention of company policies as understood. To be willing to attend routine medicals/drug tests, if required. To be willing to attend company team meetings when required. To adhere to the company’s policy on confidentiality and data protection HOURS AND SALARY A combination of day shitfs and evening shifts To be confirmed, subject to skills and experience. SUPERVISION & TRAINING This role will be supervised by the Managing Director and the Managing Consultant. The candidate will be reporting directly to either/both of these persons. Training needs will be identified and assessed by the MD/MC and may take place externally or in house. Regular appraisals will be carried out by MD/MC. The candidate will have access to a copy of the Company’s policy documents and Procedure Manual, including Health & Safety and the complaints procedure. PROBATION. The initial probation period for this post is 3 months.
