Overview
Sexual Health Nurse Hays Healthcare are working with Virgin Care, looking for experienced Sexual Health Nurses to join them on a full / part time basis in Chester to provide a comprehensive contraception and sexual health service to the local population in clinical and non- clinical settings working as an autonomous practitioner. To take responsibility for day to day management of clinics (operating 7 days a week across 08:00 - 20:00), ensuring a timely quality service is delivered and providing high standards of patient care. As a Sexual Health Nurse, you will have unique and important responsibilities including; Issuing methods of contraception and treatments for sexually transmitted infections according to Patient Group Directions & clinical protocols including counselling for and management of complex problems with contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices with appropriate referral to the doctor as necessary. Insertion and removal of contraceptive implants and removal of intrauterine devices following appropriate training. Providing STI/HIV screening and treatment according to Patient Group Directions & clinical protocols and liaises with clients with positive results to enable a management plan of care for the client and partners in accordance with policy. Planning specialised programmes of care and provides specialised advice to patients, partners, carers and family as appropriate. Ensuring each patient is placed in the correct treatment pathway at the appropriate time and necessary investigations and treatments are organised. In order to be considered for this role; you must have a valid NMC registration alongside previous experience working within sexual health and the ability to administer coils and implants.
