Workshop Controller Plant and materials handling equipment Reading £24,000pa-£26,000pa bonus benefits The company is a well-established national supplier of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment and has multiple depots across the UK. As a result of an internal promotion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a workshop controller to join the team at its depot in Reading. As a workshop controller, you will be the link between the customers and the company’s team of field service engineers. Your main objective will be to ensure the smooth day to day running of a busy service department. Your main duties will include; Taking calls from external customers with regards to equipment breakdowns. Providing technical support advice. Delegating jobs to engineers in order to maximise operational efficiencies. Arranging for engineers to visit customer site breakdowns. Updating the service manager on jobs in progress. Planning engineer visits to ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to. Dealing with engineer queries relating to parts required for jobs. Ensuring all administrative processes are fulfilled as per company policy. Performing PDI’s on equipment when required. The successful applicant must have previous experience of managing engineers and those with experience in the plant sector will be at a distinct advantage. This job would particularly suit an engineer who is looking to come off the tools. A basic salary of up to £26,000pa is available, dependent on experience bonus excellent additional benefits.
