Overview

Principal Data Engineer - (Python, GCP) - E-Commerce/Retail I am working with a leading global e-commerce scale up who have raised a significent amount of funding to expand their retail technology platform and urgently need a Principal Data Engineer to help lead their team in their London HQ. ROLE The Principal Data Engineer will join an established team of 8 and can expect to play a key role in the continuous upgrade, maintenance and development of their 20 Petabyte big data warehouse deployed in the Google Cloud Platform. This will see the Principal Data Engineer designing & developing scalable data pipelines for batch & real-time data processing, designing fact tables & star schemas and working closely with the data science team to take Machine Learning solution to productions across the business at scale. The team is growing and there is sign off to increase to 12 heads within the next 6 months. That being the case there is ample opportunity to mentor & training more junior data engineers coming into the team and set your stall out for promotion asap. REQUIREMENTS Proven successful experience in a similar role as data engineer building & maintaining data pipelines. Solid experience with data warehouse development (ETL, Star schema's etc) Strong Python programming skills is a MUST HAVE Expertise in real time data processing with tech like Kafka, Flink, Storm etc Experience with GCP & its components (i.e. BigQuery, Data Flow, Pub/Sub etc) or exceptional experinece with a similar cloud platform Any experience with the following would be preferred, but is not essential: Containerisation experience with Kubernetes Terraform for Infrastructure OFFER Salary up to £90,000 10% bonus 25 days holiday Pension Health Income Protection Flexible working Vouchers/Discounts And more… COMPANY Your new employer is on a journey to become the go to e-commerce technology platform worldwide and with the recent funding they have raised will go through another significant period of growth.
