Technical Director - Civil Infrastructure Hydrock is an independently owned multidisciplinary consultancy, of circa 500 staff, operating out of 17 offices in the UK. About the role: Opportunity to become our regional leader for the Infrastructure Division, reporting to the national divisional director, based out of our office in Plymouth, Devon, PL7 5BP. This is a senior management team position, requiring strategic and operational (technical leadership, team leadership, business development, project management) talent, with the opportunity to make a great contribution to both the national Infrastructure Division and regional multidisciplinary team, locally and in neighbouring Cornwall and Somerset. The person we entrust this role to will demonstrate a dynamic and determined commitment to work winning and commercial performance; stretching boundaries and breaking new ground. They are responsible for developing and maintaining the highest standards of technical quality; continuously evolving the department through innovation and creativity. Responsibilities: - Contributing to the design and development of the Divisional Director’s strategy. - Executing the Divisional Director’s strategy for the region. - Maintaining an accurate picture of current and future market trends in order to establish the work focus. - Championing and delivering the potential of collaborative multidisciplinary working. - Project Manager for appropriate projects, taking ownership for sustained and productive client relationships. - Directing multiple projects across the group, taking responsibility for the solutions while ensuring financial success. - Project Manager for multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with other groups internally and externally, as required. - Identify the group’s marketing goals and establishing an effective plan. - Winning work – actively identifying and converting leads to projects within the framework of the group marketing strategy. - Dynamic focus on new business; broadening coverage of high quality clients and projects. - Reviewing financial and technical submissions / proposals; attending interviews. - Developing and maintaining key client relationships under all circumstances, maximising opportunities for repeat business. - Communicate team direction and performance to the group. - Strategic assessment and rebalance of the teams strengths and needs over the long term in order to deliver the succession plan with responsibility for the longevity of the group. - Mentoring to enable meaningful delegation can apply within the team.
