AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER IN SE LONDON Your new company One of London's most ambitious councils, based in the South East, is looking to expand their already impressive structures team. Currently they are incredibly busy with several renowned regeneration projects and plenty of activity in their borough. Your new role You will work as a Structural Engineer in the Resources & Regeneration department, on a part time basis, between 2 and 3 days per week, up to 21 hours. Your main duties will be among others to review structural drawings and check calculations for the Building Control team, ensure the building work is undertaken safely, continually offer support within a dynamic team, checking structural elements, carrying out design and site investigations, prepare drawings using Autocad, carrying out risk assessments, and obtain quotations from sub-contractors/suppliers. What you'll need to succeed What you will need to succeed A degree in either Civil or Structural Engineering, experience in structural engineering, ideally with complex drawings for a varying portfolio. Ideally a member of either Civil or Structural Engineers, although this is not essential. Knowledge of structural engineering practices and procedures, the design and construction process, Health and Safety, including CDM, quality management, good numerical/IT skills, a self-motivated go getter, the ability to engage with local communities and other key stakeholders in all aspects of the development including delivery of service.
