Overview

Role Overview The jobholder will answer inbound support calls via varying channels including telephone and email and log them and diagnose problems relating to the Star Professional Software Suite and associated systems, with particular focus on the DBA element of the product. A wide range of technologies are in use, but the core operating systems is windows and the primary database system is Microsoft SQL Server. Duties will include Provisioning of 1st and 2nd Line Support Provide excellent telephone support to customers Answer and log inbound calls and emails Escalate Level 2 calls in line with escalation process Identify trends and escalate to seniors for trend analysis Action assigned support steps within 3 days Troubleshoot and resolve customer problems Write / Review documentation including How To Guides and Knowledge base articles to ensure that current content is being maintained Contribute positively towards team customer service targets Contribute positively towards team statistics Meeting goals and objectives on time Takes ownership of problems Set high personal standards Qualifications Degree in Computing, Computer Science or relevant IT subject Or Microsoft Certification (MCSE, MCDST,MCP) Or Relevant skills and experience.
