Salary: £29,000 - £31,000

Overview

We ensure our clients’ systems remain reliable, work well when their partner systems change and run effectively without any problems. Over two to four years, you’ll spend time in our offices and at customer sites learning all about the different roles we play. Systems Engineering is one of our programmes that requires a minimum of a 2:2 with an accredited degree in a relevant subject desirable. Where you can join us Places on our Systems Engineering programme for Autumn 2020 are available in our Marine sector. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme. What you'll be doing When you’re trying to anticipate what might happen as a system develops, you need to look at the big picture and zoom in on the tiny details. And when you’re dealing with systems as complex as submarines, that’s quite an undertaking. You will be working alongside experienced design engineers and managers, utilising your ability to apply Systems Thinking and your understanding of the interaction and interfaces between electrical, mechanical, nuclear process and structural engineering systems. You will develop the requirements, paying particular attention to the integration of the various disciplines, and specify the test and commissioning processes for new and modified designs. These designs will relate to the facilities and equipment used directly in support of the maintenance of the Navy’s critical assets. You will have the opportunity to use the Facilities Engineering VR suite and smart screens to support the visualisation, communication, review and presentation of the designs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that will include Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering specialists. Your work will support the safe, continued operation of our facilities and hence the Royal Navy’s ships and submarines. What you'll get out of it The range of work you’ll cover will help you figure out what you excel at. And once you know that, we’ll help you go as far as you can. We’ll support you as you work to become an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer and give you a competitive starting salary of £29k - £31k.
