BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - OUTSTANDING ENGINEERING & TECH COMPANY - AEROSPACE & DEFENCE A fantastic opportunity to join this successful technology & Engineering company as a Business Development Manager. As part of an ongoing effort to grow the business outside of their traditional markets, this company are now seeking a high calibre Sales professional to focus on the Defence market. LOCATION: Sunbury on Thames - Field based with UK & International Travel PACKAGE: £45K - £65K Bonus, Pension, Healthcare & Flexible Working. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Business Development Manager will be an important part of the Sales and Marketing Department, spearheading efforts to generate sales in Defence, and potentially with a longer-term opportunity to position the company for success in Aerospace. Tasked with generating long-term and sustainable sales relationships, the Business Development Manager will have a real opportunity to deliver tangible future success for our business. This is a challenging opportunity that will require a significant amount of patience and determination, but it will be ultimately rewarding and is coupled with an extremely attractive compensation package. Implement the product sales strategy, focusing on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction to deliver sustainable sales growth in the Defence market. - Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets. - Develop a detailed understanding of the assigned product portfolio. - Arrange meetings with new customers and prospect for new sales opportunities. - Maintain productive working relationships with existing customers to ensure continued use of company products. - Respond to incoming sales enquiries and prepare comprehensive quotations or proposals. - Manage the sales database of new and existing Defence customers. - Understand customer requirements, where they deviate from the product portfolio report back to Senior Management for review. - Understand market conditions, with an emphasis on customer procurement and approvals processes. - Advise new and existing customers on forthcoming product developments. - Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations. - Based on internal guidelines, negotiate price, delivery and configuration details with customers. - Accurately record order information and submit to sales support for fulfillment. ABOUT YOU: - Product sales experience in the Aerospace or Defence markets. (circa 5 years ideal) - Experience developing and managing multiple accounts circa £50K to £500K, up to a total of portfolio in the region of £10M. - Tradeshow and conference experience. - Ability to travel internationally. - Strong IT skills, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Post-secondary education in a science or engineering discipline - Excellent communication skills, with verbal and written fluency in English. - Proactive, self-driven individual with the ability to see the customer acquisition process through to conclusion - Time management and planning skills, attention to detail. Desirable: - Experience using a CRM system. - Knowledge of Export Control requirements.
