Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to be given the autonomy to use their skills, experience and knowledge to make a real impact to their team. The factory, based around the Reading area normally promotes from within so this is a rare opportunity to enter the business at this level. THE ROLE: The Production Supervisor / Coordinator will report directly to the Production Manager and will ensure their team operates in a safe and efficient manor whilst achieving the required production levels. This will be an autonomous role with support from your Manager when required but demands an individual who can work successfully under their own steam. - You will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager in the day to day supervision of a high speed manufacturing site. - Supervise and plan the work loads of you team of production operators. - Input to production planning meetings based on equipment availability and labour - Implement improvement activities to increase productivity and reduce costings. - Monitor, improve and maintaining the current H&S policies and procedures. - Set and monitor weekly and monthly KPI's - Maintain and update on a daily/weekly/monthly basis production related targets and progression activities. - Actively recruit new employees, on-going development and identification of training. THE CANDIDATE The successful production Supervisor will have gained experience from within a manufacturing environment. - People management skills are the highest priority You must have proven ability to manage a team but the understanding of how to get the best out of each individual. - You will have proven experience in managing teams of Operatives - Health & Safety play and important part and a thorough understanding of HSE requirements is required. Relevant certification such as IOSH would be preferred. - Experience in the recognition and implementation of improvement activities. This position would suit candidates with the previous title of: Production Supervisor, Production Coordinator, Production Manager, Production Team Leader, Production Shift Leader Benefits: Days Role Monday - Friday 39 hours p/w additional hours as required Hourly paid - £14.00 p/h Overtime 25 days hol BH Contributory Pension
