Overview

Our client, founded in 2002 is a professional provider of high quality out of school childcare offering Breakfast, After School and Holiday Club provisions across the Berkshire and Surrey areas. They are currently seeking a Deputy General Manager to assist the General Manager in overseeing all the Business Units with specific accountability and responsibility for Quality Assurance across their locations. Primary responsibilities will include: Club setting and company level Quality Assurance including club audits, action plans, planning and team organisation. Staff training and development including supervision, internal & external training, PDP's and staff reviews Employee Engagement and Relationship Manager to include staff engagement schemes, staff reps, support with internal HR and community or school events, e.g. recruitment, fayres; open evenings etc. Ensuring childcare outcomes and curriculum impact meet and exceed Ofsted and EYFS requirements maintaining the company's outstanding position in delivering quality childcare services Supporting the General Manager across all functions across all business units, which include Governance: Defining / Reviewing / Refining Policies & Procedures for the company Finance: Owning and growing the TGCL P&L Finance: Setting & Monitoring of budgets and spend Contracts: Recruiting and dismissing staff in accordance with policies and procedures. Provide strategic direction and opportunities for board approval and seek investments as appropriate Reporting: Produce regular reports for KPI, P&L reporting to the board of directors on a regular basis broken down by BU, Clubs and locations as appropriate Sales: Deliver initiatives requested by the board and initiate new sales opportunities to increase the customer base. Staffing: Ensure all BU have strategic direction aligned with corporate goals and maintain quality childcare services Provide weekly reporting across all business units to Board of Directors The person, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Requirements: The company requires a likeminded experienced individual who is passionate about childcare and can stay calm under pressure Qualified to L5/6 (or equivalent) in working with children and young people and have management experience in settings, ideally across multi-site environments. Ofsted and EYFS competent with a passion for working with children and young people Have General management skills from marketing through to new business initiatives Can lead, challenge, develop and support a team Proactive and strategic thinker with a 'can do' attitude that brings creative and innovative ideas and understands how to execute them Have interpersonal skills, time management, excellent global awareness, project management, loyalty & commitment, Childcare management experience and understanding on legislation Requirements for childcare Can multi-task in a dynamic environment with an approximate mix of 60/40 between management and childcare tasks Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills The offer: An attractive annual basic salary between £23,000 - £26,000 (negotiable subject to experience) Discounted childcare Uniform Pension scheme 28 days annual holiday entitlement A company commitment to personal development This is an excellent opportunity to secure a role with a growing and innovative childcare provider.
