Overview

Head of Operations- Spider is advertising on behalf of a company that is a Cemetery and Ceremonial service provider, with a diverse product range including burial plots, ash interments, prestige areas and memorial buildings for funeral services and other occasions such as weddings. They currently have 6 sites, which is made up of 7 parks, located from Liverpool in the North to a site near Guildford in the south, achieving a projected turnover of £7m. We successfully sought new investment in 2018 to enable significant expansion plans and they are now looking to strengthen the leadership team and appoint a full-time Head of Operations to lead the park teams, deliver operational projects and be integral in the next phase of commercial growth. The Job: As Head of Operations, you will report to the Chief Executive Officer and your mission will be to lead our park teams across the group to deliver on our brand promise to our customers – “To provide personalised service for you and your family in a unique and caring environment, always”. You will manage the current team of Park Managers and Senior Operations Managers, plus recruit, train and coach your people to support their career aspirations. This is an exciting time for the group following the recent investment and your focus will be initially to oversee embedding the new Operating IT System into the group which is building towards a mid-year launch. This will enable you to gain a thorough understanding of group operations and build relationships throughout the business. Following this, the emphasis will move towards leading our teams to deliver on our brand promise. We have developed our Way of Working (WOW) manuals in all areas of the business and you will be responsible for making sure these are embedded fully in all park teams. You will scope, plan and coordinate multi-site investment projects across the parks to further enhance our service offering and will oversee the delivery of local Park Action Plans affecting our service and grounds teams. Another key area is to focus on the delivery of our Balanced Scorecard metrics through your team and delivering on our Business Improvement Program, both of which are key to our commercial success As part of the senior management team, you will collaborate with other functional leads and build strong cross-functional relationships with the senior team in Marketing, Finance, and HR, whilst contributing to the development of our business strategy. Finally, you will embed and lead the management teams of new parks as they come on stream. In return, they are offering a competitive salary starting from £65,000 per annum.
