Overview
I am recruiting for an electrical maintenance engineer working on a Monday-Friday basis working in an automated postal sortation centre. The Job: My client distribute parcels and post around the country and have several sites covering the UK, Europe and the US This is a great chance to work for a market leading organisation during the "obline boom"; the more people that buy online, the busier the company gets Due to a huge joint venture with another Parcel sortation player, the site has expanded, meaning more engineers are required to manage new automated sortation equipment. Involved within the warehouse is a variety of materials handling machinery such as conveyor systems, sortation machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. The shift pattern is Monday-Friday, earlies lates and nights (8 hour shifts).Week 1 - Mon-Fri - 06.00-14.18 Week 2 - Mon-Fri - 22.00-06.18 Week 3 - Mon-Fri - 14.00-22.18. Basic salary of £36,000-£38,000 The Environment; Involved within the warehouse, is a variety of automated materials handling machinery involving conveyors, sortation machinery, labellers, scanners, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. All PLC controlled electromechanical machinery. The more people that buy products online, the busier and busier the site gets Conveyor experience is a must, however there are many transferable skills from the food manufacturing environment, this maybe your chance to get away from the dirty food industry and into a nice clean automated distribution facility The more people that buy online, the busier the site gets, OT is available during peak periods such as black friday, bank holidays etc. Due to the site being slightly older, there have been lots of exciting upgrades and install of brand new machinery to assist with the "online boom", so there is a chance to learn new machinery on site. Skills required: The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised, Electrical qualifications or equivalent and have the following skills: Knowledge of 16th or 17th Edition (IEE) electrical regulations Proven electrical/mechanical maintenance background Ability to read electrical schematic drawings Flexible approach to shift patterns Understanding of health and safety legislation Knowledge of parcel sorting machines and conveyor systems Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills Breakdown and planned maintenance activities at the large plant ideally within manufacturing, distribution or logistics industry If this position could be of interest, please do not hesitate to contact for more information Proactive Technical Recruitment is committed to equality in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.
