Overview

SQL Developer / DBA (Junior/Mid) - Permanent - Tunbridge Wells - £25-30k My client are a rapidly expanding digital marketing agency working in the automotive sector. Due to new business wins and growth from existing clients they are looking to strengthen their database development and reporting team with the addition of another Junior SQL Developer / DBA. Role Responsibilities: - Maintain maximum uptime of all SQL Servers, with all aspects of DBA Administration; monitoring, back up, recovery, performance tuning, user roles, permissions, apply service packs, documentation etc - Create and maintain Disaster Recover plans - Ensure maximum up time of DB Mail Server, and regularly update security passwords - Troubleshoot various problems that arise with day-to-day work and resolve issues - Provide support for the Development Team, as our data requirements grow - Monitor and respond to data queries on the Support Desk - Replicate existing SQL ETL processes developed by the senior members of the Development Team using Deployment Script routines (training given) - Contact and liaise with clients where necessary to help with technical issues - Inform or update relevant Development Team members with issues affecting production of daily processes - Learn and keep up to date on new database technologies - Ensure adherence to database best practices Experience and Skills: - Good understanding of the Role of a SQL Developer or DBA, 1 year - Knowledge of T-SQL - Good understanding of relational databases and their design - Good understanding of Security and Permission principles - Ability to learn technical aspects of the role - Good communications skills - Fair understanding of ETL processing of data - Have a basic understanding of programming methodologies The Ideal Candidate Must: - Have a "get up and go" attitude and ready to hit the ground running. - Be good at problem solving - Confident communicator both written and verbally - Have good time management and work within time limits of day to day production - Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have a proactive approach - Have an excellent eye for detail - Proactive and well organised - Ability to prioritise workload - Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
