Overview

Omega Resource Group has a brand new exciting opportunity to join a market leader within the Advanced Electronics Manufacturing Industry for the position of Production Manager located in the Great Yarmouth region. Purpose of Role: To ensure that the company’s manufacturing team are effectively trained, managed, developed and deployed in fulfilment of both customer and company objectives in compliance with the latest Employee Health and Safety legislation. To actively review performance in a metrics driven environment and initiate continuous improvement programs to support manufacturing at the lowest total cost. Main Responsibilities: Identify plan and implement continuous improvement opportunities to the RF2M microelectronics manufacturing operation in support of Lean and industry best practice. Deliver the orders on hand to our KPI targets (including On Time In Full and Late Backlog), hold regular production meetings with relevant staff to ensure output targets are understood and met, addressing any exceptions to plan with robust corrective actions. This activity to be monitored with the flow down of clear goals supported by relevant metrics which are published to staff at all levels and in all disciplines. Provide clear reporting of manufacturing progress against agreed plans clearly identifying all risks and mitigation plans to relevant stakeholders. Maintain high levels of 5S implementation. Establish and model clear team leadership in the manufacturing area. Provide motivation, coaching , support and personal development for all manufacturing staff in line with company and individual objectives which delivers a well-trained flexible team able to readily adapt to changing business needs. Work with HR to create staff development programs, succession plans and performance management objectives. Facilitate the smooth transition of new products into manufacturing. Key Skills and Competencies Required: Experienced leader of manufacturing teams. Lean practitioner with a proven track record in continuous improvement. Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels. Ability to manage high product mix with low-high volumes. Working knowledge of MRP systems. Good IT Skills including Excel. Good analytical skills balanced with solid practical experience. Hands-on approach, leads by example. Team builder and a change agent. Education and Experience Required: Relevant vocational, academic qualifications and/or experience will be considered equally. Minimum of five years in a manufacturing leadership position in an electronics or related industry. Experience with microelectronics in an aerospace and defence environment would be beneficial.
