Osborne Appointments are currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our client on a temporary basis with the possibility to lead to permanent employment. Key details: Full time – 8:30 – 17:00 (Monday to Thursday) 15:45 (Fridays) Immediate start Free on-site parking Excellent rate The opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business Hitchin based but with occasional travel to other sites (expenses paid) Duties will include: Implementing and following policies and procedures to maintain compliance Managing and promoting security processes throughout the business Managing data, telecommunications and IT servers to ensure they meet business needs Maintaining strict controls to ensure that the business has an appropriate level of infrastructure redundancy and test all server recovery procedures at a minimum of twice per annum Performing preventative maintenance/updates of the server to minimise operational and security risk Support and manage the infrastructure improvement projects and deliver accordingly Engage with the business and IT team to build strong working relationships and ensure work is delivered to agreed service levels and KPIS When necessary, provide cover for the IT Support function Maintain knowledge with the latest developments in the IT industry Qualifications, experience and training: Hold a relevant computer infrastructure or networking qualification to college or degree level. Extensive experience working in an IT Infrastructure Support role. In depth understanding of Windows Operating systems, Active Directory and Microsoft Office Applications Proven knowledge of networking principles, network administration and ideally experience of Meraki and Cisco network switch and firewall configuration Experience of Office 365 email administration. A proven understanding of Information Security principles, applications and their administration, ideally with the software Bit9, CarbonBlack, 2FA, OpenDNS, ProofPoint, Rapid7 & Microsoft Anti-virus\firewall tools. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Personal Characteristics: Conscientious Ability to prioritise, self-manage and learn new skills quickly.
