Project Manager - Cambridgeshire - Scientific Technology We are on the lookout for an experienced Project Manager to join a cutting-edge technology provider. This is a new role created due to expansion in order to manage and implement Project Management of various products from cradle to grave. You'll be involved with a variety of people, teams and functions within the organisation looking at the various stage gates, this will lean heavily to working with scientists and engineers. Understanding and communicating on a technical level will be paramount to success. Overall you be key to management of the daily R&D project activities in conjunction with, and support of, the Research Manager. Key Duties: - Prepare and submit project plans, budgetary forecasts, key performance indicators and progress metrics. Presentation of project plans and metrics to Senior Management. Organise and chair regular project review meetings. Proactively contribute to the formation, development and implementation of the company Project Management systems, approaches and policies. Cooperatively assist in the development of future technology realisation pathways in line with the business strategy. Gather information regarding R&D activities and project status, present updates to the company management team as required. The Right Person: - We require an experienced Project Manager with a track record of delivery within a technology market/s. You'll need a strong pedigree in understanding of a scientific discipline such as Chemistry/Material Science/Physics/Engineering. Preferable to PHD/Degree level. You'll be highly organised and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. Key Requirements: - Scientific background, with qualification to degree level in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or relevant STEM subject. Proactive, with a positive attitude and not fazed by the occurrence of challenges, whether technical or business rooted. Comfortable in a highly flexible working environment, enthusiastic about fluid working practices while being committed to achieving project goals. Comfortable in working within an SME. Extremely good interpersonal skills, outgoing and comfortable with working closely with our external partners. Experienced people manager with good knowledge on how to get the best out of teams, particularly in times of increased workload. Competent team member with confidence to contribute ideas and advice, irrespective of audience level
