Top ranked Private Client firm seeks a Court of Protection Solicitor/Legal Executive with between 3 and 6 years’ post qualification experience to join its thriving Salisbury office. The team specialises in providing Court of Protection Deputyship support for clients who have on-going complex Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence claims. This involves managing multi-million-pound awards. Court of Protection Solicitor/Legal Executive - Role Overview You will work closely with the Partner that oversees this specialist team and deal with matters such as: the provision of comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients and family members, within the context of the Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation; the management of Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain injured and vulnerable clients, Trust management, assisting with tax affairs and accounts, drafting Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of Protection; attend clients at hospitals, in their home and care/nursing homes; the preparation of applications to the court of protection; assisting in the purchase of properties and adapting them for the needs of the client; supervising and overseeing personal finances; making regular payments to clients and keeping accurate schedules of these payments; liaising with case managers, medical professionals and specialists; assisting the team to develop the business further; the delegation and supervision of tasks where appropriate to paralegals and trainees. Court of Protection Solicitor/Legal Executive - Skills and Experience Required Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong academic background with good quality experience. Whilst some specific Court of Protection knowledge is required, candidates with a more general Private Client background are encouraged to apply if they are keen to pursue a more specialised role going forwards.
