Overview
Our client is a leading well established utility company. They currently have a requirement for an experienced Plant & Transport Manager to oversee the entire fleet of commercial vehicles and plant. Key Essentials: Reporting to senior management; your role will involve overall management of a P&T team in utilising and maintaining the fleet to the best of its capabilities You will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are routinely serviced with essential maintenance carried out; ensuring that O Licence conditions, FORS and DVSA guidelines are adhere to Ensuring that all P&T records are kept up to date Enforce the group vehicle policy; ensure that all drivers / operators have the correct / valid licence for the fleet being driven Ensure that vehicle tracking systems are regularly monitored with the ability to provide alerts and reports in case of any incidents. Premiums to be reviewed on an annual basis to ensure best value for money Maintain relations with hire companies; regularly negotiate rates / agreements Ensure fleet insurance premiums are monitored on a bi-annual basis; negotiating with various brokers Point of contact when investigating fleet accidents; manage claims with any affected parties Provide fleet recommendations to senior management - comparing asset life cycle ownership costs against hire costs; taking into account contract requirements Oversee purchasing / leasing of P&T including service agreements Monitor fuel consumption including negotiating prices Regularly attending transport and management meetings Attending regular planning meetings to understand plant movement for the forthcoming weeks; relaying information with the P&T department Requirements: Previous experience as a Plant & Transport Manager for a Civil Engineering / Utility company Qualified with Transport Manager CPC with excellent knowledge of Goods Vehicles Operator licence (O Licence) requirements It is essential that you have excellent I.T Skills in Microsoft Office packages plant transport service repair maintenance fitter technician mechanic HGV car workshop management maindealer commercial operatorlicence olicence CPC vosa dvsa fors civilengineering utilities reinstatement resurfacing
