Colorectal Nurse Specialist

COLORECTAL NURSE - £30K - £34K Leicester Our client has an excellent reputation in the provision of specialised continence and stoma management solutions and care. They are recruiting for a Colorectal Nurse to be based in Leicester General Hospital. As a colorectal Nurse you will be responsible for delivering high quality, evidence based care to all patients who require surgery and who have or may require the formation of a stoma, both within the hospital and community setting. You will also provide expert advice and education for hospital and community staff. You will also be responsible for reviewing, auditing and improving the quality of care. Key duties to include; · Patient assessment and evaluation · Liaison with hospital staff to facilitate the provision of high quality care to all patients diagnosed with colorectal disease · To act as patients advocate through effective support and information to enable them to make informed decisions · Providing clinical leadership and direction in colorectal/stoma care · To attend colorectal clinics to be present at the time of diagnosis for cancer patients · To establish and maintain good working relationships with other specialist nurses and medical staff involved in all aspects of care for patients within the disease area · Implementation of specialised educational programmes for pre and post registration Nurses and member of other disciplines · To participate in service reviews and provide annual reporting, including data collection · Maintaining an understanding of broad business objectives In order to be considered for this role you will have; · NMC registration · A minimum of two years post registration experience · Specialist stoma or colorectal experience · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to interrogate data and formulate advice, plans of action and reports · Full driving licence · Ability to work autonomously If you would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity please click on the link below.
