Overview

A large secondary school in central Manchester is looking for a Science Technician to join their team immediately until the end of the school year. School: · Large school with a team of three Science Technicians. · Excellent public transport links. · Up to date facilities and equipment. Science Department: · Organised team of three Science Technicians (including this role). · Team are experienced and supportive. · Sound processes in place for H&S and equipment ordering. Role of Science Technician: · Reporting to the Senior Science Technician. · Hours are 08:30 to 16:30 with a one-hour lunch. · Monday to Friday, term time only. · Starting 24 th February and continuing until 17 th July 2020. · There is a possibility of a permanent role from September. · Maintaining standards of H&S at all times. · Auditing and ordering equipment and materials as needed. · Preparing practical experiments for teachers to carry out in lessons. Ideal Science Technician: · Previous lab experience. · An enhanced DBS is an advantage, although we can help you apply for one. · A relevant degree. · A sound knowledge of COSHH. · Organised, flexible and helpful.
