Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join an international provider of architectural lighting solutions in Tonbridge as a Technical Assistant. In this varied role, you will be involved in carrying out take-off's, preparing detailed costing schedules, creating technical quotations, processing orders, procurement and project management. The business you'll be working for is well-established and continues to grow. They serve a wide variety of project applications, illuminating retail spaces, museums, offices, airports, sports stadiums, hotels, chain stores, private dwellings as well as all external environments and have worked on projects with the likes of the O2 Arena and Harrods. Role Responsibilities As a Technical Assistant, your duties will include: Being the first point of contact for incoming calls, whether they be clients, wholesalers, contractors, suppliers or sales team. Carrying out take-off's to be produced in conjunction with luminaire schedules to understand and confirm the drawing matches the schedule. Preparing detailed costing schedules in Excel, making allowance for all components required for each fitting. Raising accurately priced quotations for project opportunities and ensuring all tenderers receive a quote within the tender period prescribed by clients. In addition to regular project work, you will also be responsible for managing and maintaining the internal running of retail roll out clients and coordinating their store fit-out program needs. Placing all the supplier orders and sub orders required to fulfil projects received accurately and within the time restraints that the company has agreed to meet. Chasing deliveries and liaising with the company's logistics network to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments. Requirements To be successful in this Technical Assistant role, you should meet the following criteria: Educated to degree level with experience working in a commercial environment Have a practical and inquisitive mind to be able to learn a technical product and a want to understand the subject of lighting Strong numeracy skills Good all-round working knowledge of Microsoft packages, in particular Excel Good written and verbal communication skills with a confident telephone manner Well-organised, logical and creative thinker.
