About the System Engineer role: Due to our ongoing growth we are looking for a System Engineer to join our datacentre team in Maidenhead. Working within our datacentres, our System Engineers are responsible for resolving a range of customer issues, which can include anything from deploying racks and configuring servers to running and terminating network cables. As a System Engineer you will also assist with installing and modifying data floor equipment, monitoring networks and servers and managing backups. Due to the varied nature of the System Engineer role within iomart no two days are the same, and this will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience, and develop your knowledge, across a variety of different technologies and software. Don’t have experience or knowledge of working within the IT industry? Don’t worry. Full training on everything you need to know will be provided. If you have an interest in all things computers, want to work in a position that provides you with the opportunity to for development and love problem solving we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate for the System Engineer role will have/be: An interest in computers and IT Computer hardware experience, for example building own PC A can do attitude, with the desire to learn new skills every day A practical person who is comfortable in a physical role handling heavy equipment Able to work shift patterns which will include overnights and weekends Basic understanding of operating systems, including how they work and install Basic understanding of networking principles Customer service experience Additional experience which would be beneficial, but is not essential could include: Fibre optic cabling and structured cabling experience Asset management system experience Configuring and supporting firewalls Data centre experience What do we offer in return?
