Overview

Role Purpose: To provide a patient orientated service and supporting duties to the Consultants, and Clinical staff as and when required, including patient health assessments and phlebotomy and assisting in minor procedures combined with effective and efficient reception and administration duties. Core Responsibilities: Health Care Duties Escort and assist patients changing if required Act as a chaperone Taking and recording temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturations, blood pressure, BMR, BMI, height, weight, blood glucose, ECG’setc. Undertake Phlebotomy Ensure Consultation and treatment rooms are maintained clean & tidy and appropriately stocked. Assist in the preparation of rooms and laying up of trolleys and supplies & assist in consultations and minor procedures as required. Clean room and equipment and disposal of trolley settings post procedure Assist in Stock ordering, checking and rotation Closely liaise and seek direction and advice from Lycahealth Nurse(s) Carry out all activities safely and do not attempt to carry out aspects of care or other duties that you are not trained to do Administration To meet and greet all patients their families and visitors to LycaHealth maintaining a front of house that is inviting, welcoming and friendly. To maintain a very smart, professional appearance. To organise and book appointments for patients, doctor’s secretaries and external staff - in person and over the telephone To provide a focal point for appointment enquiries from both clinicians and patients, dealing with queries as they arise to ensure the smooth running of the service. To clearly explain preparations and procedures to patients To check that Imaging request forms are IR(ME)R compliant before booking the procedure To politely deal with telephone bookings and enquiries, using the company telephone answering standard. This includes checking voice mail and returning calls Appropriately receive, re-direct, action or take messages from incoming calls and make telephone calls to and from other sources or organisations as required and ensure that telephone calls are diverted at all other times to another member of staff if the office is unmanned during the working day. To assist with resolving difficulties and problems from patients, clinical staff and other external departments To prepare paperwork for the day ahead and locate any missing paperwork To handle insurance queries Liaise with Administration and Accounts Managers regarding the 'billing’ process To assist in other administrative tasks as directed To check stationary levels and order appropriately under the instruction of the manager The correct transfer of Radiological images to and from the PACS system
