Laborartory Technician - Innovative Company - King's Lynn, Norfolk - up to £30k Carousel is pleased to be working in partnership with Merxin , a rapidly expanding designer, developer and supplier of generic and customised drug delivery and medical device platforms, based in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. Four years ago, our client started Merxin; today they are one of the world’s leading inhaler device designers and suppliers. We are actively recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join their hard working, talented and growing team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, the Laboratory Technician will be a vital part of the Product Development team supporting laboratory, engineering and development activities to ensure the successful delivery of Merxin products. Suitable candidates will have A-Levels (or equivalent) in science or engineering subjects and previous experience in a related industry (science, development, technology etc.) You will be creative and innovative, have a thirst for knowledge and an inquisitive nature and love solving problems. Handling, interpreting and analysing data and finding out what is going on will constantly drive you and you will be comfortable working under pressure to deadlines. Key responsibilities as the Laboratory Technician will include: Evaluating prototypes using high-end in-house equipment Utilising product development equipment, e.g. rapid prototype Data compilation and analysis Highlighting data anomalies and issues observed during testing Developing and writing test methods Preparing laboratory reports and relevant documentation Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies Complying with company Health and Safety policies Adhering to regulatory compliance Communicating with suppliers What we’re looking for: A-level (or equivalent) in science or engineering subjects An evidence based track record of performance in a similar role Previous experience in a related industry (science, development, technology) Experimental work, data handling, interpretation and reporting desirable Creative and innovative A passion for problem solving Good data analysis and a desire to find out what’s going on A love for projects A thirst for knowledge Keen eye for detail and accuracy Excellent documentation skills, ensuring it is all technically accurate, filed, cross-referenced and up-to-date Proactive, highly organised team player Ability to work in a team and autonomously whilst under pressure and to tight deadlines What’s on offer? A salary between £20,000 - £30,000 dependent on skills and experience.
