Overview

Seaward, the UK’s leading manufacturer of Electrical Test Equipment, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced On-Site Calibration Engineer to join the team to be based in the Manchester or North Staffordshire areas, with access to the M6, M60/M62. As trusted manufacturers of electrical safety test equipment, we’ve been helping to keep the world safe for over 37 years with our safety testers, designed and manufactured by us at our state-of-the-art facility here in the UK. Some of the equipment we manufacture includes PAT Testers, PAT Software, Installation Testing Equipment and many more. Due to significant growth, we need an On-Site Calibration Engineer to cover Manchester and North Staffordshire. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for testing, calibrating and adjusting a wide range of test equipment types on customers premises in the UK and overseas. About the role: Following documented procedures accurately Have a knowledge of specifications and measuring units used Carrying out first line repairs and maintenance on customers premises Discussing technical issues with customers Obtaining product specifications and maintaining a suitable library facility Calibrating a wide range of multi-parameter test equipment Providing certificate details when calibration complete Liaising with repair staff regarding faulty items Liaising with admin staff regarding customer contact/requirements Carrying out calibration work back at base if required Providing detailed calibration certificates Sourcing and understanding equipment specifications when necessary Identifying and sharing ways of improving test techniques and increasing parameters Delivering a best in class service delivery Working flexibly to meet customers’ requirements Requirements: HNC in electrical/ electronics preferable Or demonstrable qualification through experience Experience within the Instrumentation industry or previous calibration experience Knowledge of Electrical/Electronic principles Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Sound mathematical knowledge Knowledge of quality standards/systems Good interpersonal skills Good self-starter with tenacity and drive Sounds interesting?
