There is no upper age limit for applications, and we have full and part-time jobs available in the Plymouth, Bude, Tavistock, Torpoint, Saltash, Okehampton and surrounding areas of Devon. You would need to be a car driver and have access to a vehicle. Catherine is 85 years old, she has lived in on her own since her husband, Eric, died 7 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, Catherine had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. Catherine is typical of someone you would become a Care Assistant & Companion for, she still wants to get out and about, but confidence stops her, that is where you come in. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also take her out and keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine. Helping her finished getting washed and dressed. Going shopping with her on a Saturday morning or taking her to the hairdressers every Wednesday maybe? You would be doing the things that you would do for a relative or a friend, and the things we would all want when we get older. Benefits & Hours £10.00 per hour plus mileage allowance paid travel time waiting time. Full and part time hours available. Contracted hours are available if you can work between 16-30 hours and have some availability early mornings, lunchtimes, afternoons, evenings or a couple of hours on alternate weekends.
