DS595 – Section Engineer - Railway Industry Location: Tottenham Salary: £40,000 Car/Car allowance Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking Section Engineers on behalf of one of our clients. The Section Engineer should be able allocate tasks to the Site Engineer and supervise the task completion. They should ensure that the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed and also ensure that the works are delivered to specification. They will oversee engineering requirements demanded in the delivery of a section of work or a subcontract package aiming to meet the construction programme as agreed with the Subagent. This role would suit ex-military candidates however, candidates from all backgrounds will be considered. Duties and Responsibilities: Report to a Subagent and work with the Section Foreman to assess the plant and resource requirements in order to meet the demands of site and office-based works. Compile method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works. Ensure and check where it is required that the Site Engineer complete setting out in accordance with design. Ensure Design Drawings are marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished. Identify, report and ensure that any clashes on site are managed to ensure a smooth flow of work. Regularly review procedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible. Skills and Qualifications: Previous experience as a Section Engineer in station buildings or buildings in general is essential. Experience or Exposure to Railway interface is essential. A solid background in Civil Engineering, specifically exposure to Structures foundations and Fit-Out is highly desirable.
