My client is looking for an inquisitive and driven person to support the early stage formulation development of their pipeline. Reporting to the team leader of Drug Product Development, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-growing environment, be involved into formulation development to enable pre-clinical and clinical studies and more broadly input across different functions within Biopharmaceutical Development (BPD) Considering the ongoing expansion with our client's manufacturing capabilities, there may be opportunities for the contract to be extended within the same team, or for the individual to pursue other permanent opportunities within Biopharmaceutical development. Key responsibilities: You will generate data to drive the drug product development pipeline and help build a seamless internal capability by working closely with cell line, cell culture, downstream and analytical teams. You will be involved in a range of activities including, but not limited to: Performing pre-formulation and formulation studies, force degradation, accelerated and real time studies Designing, conducting and interpreting analytical assays (e.g. chromatographic and electrophoretic methods, light scattering) to support screening stages, product quality analysis and stability testing Contributing to establishing new stability indicating assays Providing concise data summaries and presenting outcomes to key internal & external stakeholders Other drug product development activities Job Requirements Education & Experience Educated to at least degree level in an analytical/formulation science or another relevant degree area Ideally you will have previous bench-based lab experience in the development of biomolecules Experience in protein analytics (e.g. HPLC, SDS PAGE, CE, DLS, SLS) and routine laboratory procedure (pH, conductivity, spectrometry) It would be advantageous to have experience in the formulation of biologics, excipients screening & stability testing, especially bispecific antibodies & non-conventional formats Skills & Knowledge Understanding of protein biochemistry or protein biophysics Methodical, organised with an aptitude for detail Ability to work closely with others, encourage good team spirit, motivate a multi-skilled team to higher goals and demonstrate initiative as required Ability to work to tight deadlines, troubleshoot effectively and respond quickly to changes in priority A flexible and willing attitude with the desire to continually improve and develop Demonstrated strengths in planning, organisational, analytical skills, time management and problem solving Can you see yourself being part of a company that celebrates diversity and believes that better thinking and decisions come from wider experience?
