Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference/ We are seeking dedicated and caring Waking Night Support workers for our residential and supported living service at Willoughby Lodge in Holbeach (PE12 8LE), supporting adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs. Willoughby Lodge is a large bungalow that has been converted into a single self-contained flat, plus a further two bedroom self-contained flat. The building has been completely refurbished to a very high standard and all the bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms plus communal areas. Set in rural Lincolnshire, Willoughby Lodge benefits from large expanses of countryside and walking paths. This is coupled with easily accessible shopping environments, allowing individuals to access social situations positively and specifically based on their individual abilities and needs. Willoughby Lodge is an all-male supported living service for people aged 18 with autism spectrum conditions, severe learning disabilities, acquired brain injury, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge and epilepsy. The people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice. Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own. Could this be you? As a Waking Night Support Worker you will be expected to ensure people are supported to gain a good night’s sleep, monitoring any concerns in relation to disturbed sleep patterns and follow relevant support plans designed to promote sleep and wellbeing. You will focus on ensuring the environment at night is safe and contributes to ensuring people are comfortable at night. Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, and will include weekends and bank holidays as required. Please note our Waking Night Support Workers are required to remain awake and vigilant throughout their night shift. You will be required to check on residents as instructed by their care plans, and provide any support needed. The Ideal Candidate We believe that a successful support worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals. Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must. Some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.
