This Main Contractor have been growing from strength to strength since they started just over 25 years ago and boast a turnover in excess of £30M. Currently, they operate within the New Build, Fit Out & Refurbishment of Commercial Offices, Leisure, Healthcare & Laboratories Sector and the majority of their projects range between £100K - £5M. However, they have recently completed a Commercial Office Refurbishment back to CAT B specification that had a value of £10M. They are now looking for a strong Technical Services Manager to join their growing team. You will report directly into the Head of M&E and will have a key part in running multiple projects from initial tender stage through to handover. Position: Technical Services Manager – Salary £40,000-£55,000 (depending on experience) Travel Pension Healthcare Role: This is ideal for someone that is looking to make their first jump into Main Contracting after completing their HND/Degree in Building Services. However, they would look at someone that is currently working for either a M&E Contractor as an Engineer or someone that is currently working from a M&E Design Consultancy. Overview of Responsibilities: Reviewing drawings and advising the design team on the coordination of the M&E services within the overall building design Tender review and sub-contractor selection Input in to the construction programme and integrating the M&E programme in to it, including the commissioning phase Monitoring and reporting on progress against the project programme working closely alongside the project team and driving the M&E install accordingly Testing and checking installations and ensuring the commissioning is planned and carried out effectively Ensuring building regulations and health and safety requirements are met Attending meetings and presenting ideas and progress reports to managers and clients Advising clients on how the building services will operate once the building is complete as part of the handover process The ideal Candidate: A good understanding of both mechanical and electrical services coming from a mechanical trades background or professional qualification in engineering Good communication and people management skills both upstream and downstream, including delivering progress and finance reports Good leadership and decision-making skills with experience of managing specialist M&E install teams. Consistent and conscientious ensuring high standards are met in terms of meeting progress targets according to the programme of works, quality compliance according to the drawings and specifications, and health and safety regulations Ability to build and develop long-term relationships with external professionals, clients, contractors and suppliers.
