Project Engineer

A global leading automated material handling equipment supplier is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team in the regional office based in Northamptonshire. The company supply automated handling equipment and maintenance service packages to an array of well-known blue-chip companies for their distribution centres across the UK with the majority being new fully automated sites. The role of Project Engineer is to provide project management support to a number of large-scale automated equipment projects, from contract approval to final handover to customer. You will also be providing support to the Project Managers. Benefits: C£45k (dependant on experience) 25 days holiday Possible career progression UK Travel to support varying projects Key skills of Project Engineer: Ability to manage and control projects to the agreed customers specifications, designs, budgets and timelines. Ensure cost effective designs meet compliance standards and are in line with client specifications. Ensure specifications / drawings are available to customer deadlines. Coordinate directly with customers, suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are completed to the agreed specs and quality standards. Attend and manage project sites to ensure contractors and sub-contractors are working to H&S legislation and in line with schedules and contractual specifications. Use project recording systems to ensure documentation is maintained and submitted to company standards. Provide support to other departments when required (i.e. investigations, inspections, surveys, sales meetings, maintenance and service options) Qualifications / Experience required: Health and safety and CDM knowledge and compliance Project Engineer / manager experience IOSH qualified or training provided Automated handling equipment product knowledge is highly desirable Contacts Law awareness Commercial awareness Negotiating skills Computer skills – Navision, MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, MS Project Customer service skills If you are an experienced Project Engineer looking for a great opportunity, please contact Stuart Cooper directly on for further details.
