Overview

Summary To carry out both manual and automated testing to ensure applications developed for use by the business meet their requirements. Job Scope Primary duties: create automated tests for new applications and system integrations to reduce the amount of manual testing required. Perform manual testing when required. Secondary duties: to work as part of a team and individually to resolve issues Functional Knowledge - Agile: SCRUM, Kanban - SQL server - API testing - TFS/VSTS/Azure Devops/Jira - Automation tools such as Selenium and Jasmine/Karma - Experience of coding in C# .net - Experience of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools such Jenkins - Data testing/SQL General Background, Experience & Professional Qualifications - At least 1-2 years proven recent experience as an IT Tester - ISEB Foundation Key Responsibilities - Identify test scenarios, create test cases and document test results. - Write and maintain automated tests - Estimate the testing required, reporting status and issues to line manager - Deliver detailed test reports from the execution of automated test suites - Document software faults and liaise with developers until the software is ready for release - Ensure that systems meet the agreed acceptance criteria - Ensure governance standards are upheld and changes deployed into the production environment are reflected in the regression suite - Perform detailed manual testing of in house applications and apis using industry standard techniques - Where required, arrange User Acceptance Testing - Enhance and update the library of regression test scripts and user documentation for all applications - Liaise with the Service Desk to help them understand the application and coordinate a seamless customer support offering, particularly around software releases - Undertake email and telephone-based third-line support of bespoke in-house applications when required.
