Overview
Fyte recruitment, part of the Morgan Philips Group are delighted to be recruiting for a Company Accountant with an Edinburgh based engineering firm. The role will preplace the outgoing company accountant allowing for a solid handover for the new incumbent. The business has 3 offices in Scotland and employs around 75 staff. The Company Accountant will report into the Finance Director as well as supporting the MD and Operations Directors. There are two direct reports into the role, an Accounts Assistant and an Admin Assistant. Key Responsibilities: Management Accounts – Preparation and Review of Monthly Management Accounts Statutory Accounts – Review of Statutory Accounts and review of audit file Forecasting and Budgeting – Forecasting Year End results and preparation of the monthly forecast. Project Accounting – Preparation of project profitability reports Management of transactional finance – Manage AP/AR, Expenses and HMRC. Management of Cash and VAT returns Payroll – Management of outsourced Payroll Background & Experience: Fully qualified accountant - Essential Experience of producing financial and management accounts Experience of managing staff as well as supporting senior leadership Transactional finance, payroll and tax experience Good knowledge of Excel Agresso ( Desirable but not essential) Must be a confident, self-starter This is a broad role in a successful and established SME, it also presents a great longer term opportunity for the right candidate.
