About the role At Surrey our Children's Services are on a rapid change journey with new management, innovative approaches and considerable energy. Family Safeguarding, an innovative and highly effective approach, developed in Hertfordshire will be central to our new model Do you feel passionate about supporting young people to achieve their very best? Are you looking for opportunities to gain experience within a dynamic and innovative team? We are looking for creative individuals to join the Assessment Service to help make a difference to our young people's lives. You will be supporting social workers in the team; working intensively and in a planned way with the young person, family or carers and other agencies and services. Supporting children and families to achieve their potential will be central to all you do. You will undertake direct work with children, parenting work and potentially group work. You will need to be able to work in partnership and use your skills to be able to engage with children in a meaningful way. As a member of our team, you will be working alongside partners, agencies and the voluntary sector to support children and their families in the community. Surrey Children's Service provides training to ensure competence and professional development. We will ensure that you receive a full induction and monthly supervision. It would be ideal if you have had experience of working with children and young people and can show us how this work has impacted in positives outcomes. You will need to be able to engage with families/Carers and children, and support social workers in managing risk and effecting positive change. You should also be able to evidence good written and verbal skills. Surrey Children's Service believes that the welfare of children and their families is paramount. Team members are enthusiastic and supportive, committed to the provision of a quality service for children and their carers and we are looking for people with similar qualities to join us to continue the good work already being done. No two days in the team are the same. You will need experience of working with children in a paid or voluntary area or an interest in the welfare and care of children and young people.
